The differential efficiency of NaLa(WO4)2:Nd3+ pumped with alexandrite laser under free generation conditions, was equal to 34%, the generation threshold was 16.7 mj. The introduction of Yb3+ into NaLa(MoO4)2 was found to increase its radiation strength from 104 up to 114 j/cm2, the introduction of Nd3+ into NaLa(WO4)2 raised the radiation strength of this crystal from 8 up to 24 j/cm2. Investigation of the scintillation characteristics of NaLa(Mo4)2, NaLa(MoO4)2 crystals and of their solid solutions showed that the value of light yield ranged between 5 and 8 photoel./MeV.
