Degree of accuracy, reliability and speed of measurements of the method developed have proved to be better as compared with the known methods for diagnostics of the infrared optical materials and can be used both in scientifical laboratories and in the industrial facilities. Using the method developed, the scattering of infrared radiation in the germanium crystals grown in our laboratory by the original technology, has been measured. It is shown, in particular, that, in the 20 to 70-mm-diameter crystals, the value of radiation scattering at the 3,0-10,6 ?m range is within 1,5-2,5 % over the whole crystal length.
