Purpose:optimi- zation of therapy of DM type 2 in the patients with symptomatic mental disorders. Methods: clinical, clinical-psychopathological, biochemical, instru- mental, immunoenzymatic. 179 female patients with DM type 2 in the state of decompen sation of carbohydrate metabolism were examined. There was shown that clinical picture of disease in the patients with DM type 2 includes somatic symptomes and also anxious and depressive disorders. In was found that all women with DM type 2 have climacteric syndrome in perimeno- pause. These findings allow to suggest that in- tensity of psychoemotional disorders in women in climacteric have biochemical basis in the form of estrogenic insufficiency and monoamine dysfunction. It was proved that psychotropic therapy in the patients with DM and symptomatic mental disorders leads to dearease of level of depression and anxiety and also resulted in subjective improvement of their health, increase of quality of life.
