Each particular line of activity represents a unit of observation. The paper's purpose is to develop main methodological approaches to the statistical analysis of the status and development of the establishments pertaining to the educational branch of Ukraine in order to establish the trend of its development and to substantiate the managerial decisions aimed at increasing activity effectiveness. In theoretical and methodological terms, the study is based on the logic-dialectical method of perceiving the phenomena and processes of financial and economic activities, the methods of systems analysis, abstraction, synthetic valuations, classification, statistical measurements, groupings, absolute, relative and average values, dynamics, as well as the index, prognostic, diagram and graphical methods.
