Basing on it the wide analysis of situation on the border crossings between Ukraine and Poland in Lviv and Volyn regions; border between Ukraine and Romania in Chernivtsi region; partial monitoring of the Ukrainian-Slovakian, Ukrainian-Hungarian and Ukrainian-Romanian borders in the Transcarpathian region were carried out. Questioning of persons crossing Ukrainian-NATO border, regarding following human rights and human dignity during this procedure, was conducted. On the basis of analysis of various sources (historical, statistical, sociological), monitoring of mass-media the rich empiric material was collected, analysed and generalized, and compliant scientific conclusions were grounded. On the basis of research results recommendations for the government, frontier and custom guards with the purpose of improvement of the situation in visa policy of countries-members of NATO, boundary infrastructure onthe western border of Ukraine as well as procedure of crossing the border were worked out. Research results can be used in scientific activity for preparation of resumptive works on international relations, political science, history of Ukraine and for educational purposes.
