Objectives: to examine molecular-genetic mechanisms of allergic dermatoses and elaborate new methods of their diagnostics and therapy. Methods: clinical, immunologic, biochemical, and molecular-biologic. New strains of Candida and Malassezia have been isolated, PCR-system for determination of Malassezia fungi was elaborated, one of the new strains was genotyped as Candida parapsilosis by sequencing of Internal Transcribing Spacers of rRNA gene. EIA-system for determination of anti-Candida antibodies was elaborated with produced Candida antigens. Significant part of patients with allergic dermatoses was found to have elevated antibodies to Candida antigens that evidenced increased impact of these antigens on patients. Addition of systemic antimycotics to basic therapy in patients with elevated anti-Candida antibodies cut down the treatment duration. This can prove participation of immune reaction to fungal antigens in pathogenesis of skin lesions in these patients. Gene SPINK5 SNP was found to be associated with allergic dermatoses.
