The semiotic system of the contemporary Ukrainian theatre is examined with the category of the cultural landscape and through the direct connection with the concept of a "town" as a subject and object, that allows to attract the considerable social and cultural material. The method of the development is the semiotic analysis, added with the intertextual and discursive analysis. The innovation, which offered in the investigation, lights up three questions: the pragmatics of a theatrical text, its subject and the context.
