Growth of demand on wood by internal users, and also the increase of volumes of exportation of forest products to the oversea market requires more effective use of forest resources. In accordance with Conception of reformation and development of forestry one of ways of realization of this task is introduction of more exact account of round timbers and concordance of national norms in the field of forestry with the proper international standards. Development of state standard are actual, as regulates types and basic parameters of fa-cilities for the automated and manned measuring of round lumbers linear and by volumes.
