Principles of monitoring of electric arc movement as a heating source by means of electro-magnetic stirring with electro-magnetic fields of different spatial configuration were formed. A new method of arc heat output distribution was suggested, which allows to use its lesser rate for heating and activating of base metal surface while its bigger rate is used for heating and melting of deposited material. Developed optimal methods allow to calculate electro-magnetic stirring parameters subject to recommended coating process parameters, thermal and physical characteristics of the material being deposited and ensure maximum effectiveness in practice.
