Aim of this work is prioritizing activities to bring the national legal framework to European requirements through harmonization. Method of the research is the theory of state and law, the theory of standardization and quality control. In this work, the classification of standardization tasks in the field of power industry is developed, the structural model of power industry is corrected, and international standards by major direction are analyzed. The most important differences between legislation of Ukraine re power industry and EU legislation are determined; the proposals re inclusion of certain provisions of the Directive 2003/54/EU in the legislation of Ukraine are prepared. The Draft Law of Ukraine "About alteration into the Law of Ukraine "On electric power industry" is developed. Conceptual provisions of the Draft Law of Ukraine "On general principles of the operation of the internal market of electricity in Ukraine" are developed. Recommendations on priorities for the harmonization of national standards with international requirements and regulations on the operation of electric power are given. The results of research will be implemented during improvement and development of Ukrainian legislation, and work to harmonize national standards with international ones on electric power industry operation.
