Objective: to work out an integrated program for prevention of noncontagious diseases and of school maladjustment in schoolchildren of middle age in the course of reforming institutions of general education on the basis of deforming gender and age regularities in their health formation in the process of their schooling. Methods: longitudinal clinical, sanitary and hygienic, sociologic, physiologic, and statistical. Theoretical and practical results: on the basis of longitudinal studies of schoolchildren's health status at the stage of transition from primary to secondary school period (with 12-year term of education) there has been revealed a certain increase in the rates of pathological affection, psychic and behavioral disorders, prevalence of endocrinal and osteomuscular systems diseases, connective tissue lesions, as well as ocular and adnexa oculi pathology. It has been established that favorable in-school environment can be achieved by involving all the participants of the process into minimizing the negative impact of sanitary and hygienic factors, and to conscientious use by parents of health maintaining measures. A technology for hygienic estimation of educational process during the lesson was worked out. There was developed a program for preventing noncontagious diseases and maladjustment of schoolchildren in the transition period which was based on estimating their life quality connected with health. Novelty: it has been established that the program for prophylaxis of noncontagious diseases and maladjustment of schoolchildren during transition from primary to secondary period of schooling should be based on providing the pupils' high life quality as regards health. That can be achieved by step-by-step formation of inner motivation to learning, by reducing anxiety, as well as by educational activities among schoolchildren and their parents. Effectiveness: the developed technologies contribute to improvement of schoolchildren medical support, to raising effectiveness of introduction of medicoprophylactical programs and the pupils' adaptation to secondary school.
