Effect of wheel disk bending stiffness on dynamic performance of the gondola car with the modernized 18-100 trucks and on wheel flange wear is estimated. Improvement of C-4 and P-5 wheel profiles chosen from the condition of conformal contact with unworn R65 rail taking into account real interaction of gondola cars with modernized trucks equipped with wheels with chosen S-shaped disk form and track is made.
