The research deals with mass transport and biochemical and electrochemical interactions in physicochemical systems. This was achieved through the application of numerical methods for the solution of ordinary and partial differential equations describing non-steady state processes. Thus complex homogeneous biochemical reaction mechanisms were successfully simulated, and diffusion-convection-migration mass transport was modelled in systems electrochemical systems with microelectrodes which are the basis of microdetectors employed in biochemical research. Also in the course of the project novel numerical methods for the solution of stiff Cauchy problems for ordinary differential equations describing homogeneous chemical reactions were improved. The scientific value of the obtained results is guaranteed by their generality which allows their direct application to the analysis of relevant experimental data.
