More than 85% of the total emissions are from ferrous metallurgy. Assessment of decreasing greenhouse gas emissions due to implementing energy-saving technologies was done. Technical and economic analysis of actions, which can be realized as joint implementation projects, was carried out. Ways of implementing positions of Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change at enterprises of the region were proved.
