Object of investigation: mechanisms of animal and human adaptation to high altitude condition, hypometabolic state development, periodical hypoxical training. Aim of work: investigation of molecular, genetic and biochemical mechanisms of hypometabolic state development under acute and long-term adaptation to high altitude hypoxia, of this state interrelation with changes in functions of cardiovascular, autonomic nervous systems in animals and human as well as of high nervous activity in human. Methods: functional investigations of respiration and gas exchange, cardiovascular system and oxygen transport; electrophysiological, polarographic, morphological, biochemical, molecular and genetical, mathematical. Based on results from investigation of respiration and gas exchange, system blood flow, rate of body and tissue oxygen consumption, the mechanisms of hypometabolic state development in high altitude conditions as wellas the mechanisms of this state modulation under periodical hypoxia, acute barochamber hypoxia or mineral water influence have been esctablished; mathematic model and computer program for this state modeling have been elaborated. The mechanisms of regulation of respiration, mitochodrial function have been demonstrated; activation of molecular and genetical mechanisms under high altitude hypoxia and periodical hypoxic training influence on the rats and human were found. The mechanisms of adaptogenic action of periodical hypoxic training and mineral water have been established.
