Objective: investigation of the rotational spectra of methyl formate (HCOOCH3) and pyruvic acid (CH3COCOOH) in millimeter wave range. Methods: experimental spectroscopy of millimeter wave range, theoretical analysis, numerical simulation. The new broadband records of methyl formate (HCOOCH3) and pyruvic acid (CH3COCOOH) molecular spectra have been obtained in the millimeter wave range. The new experimental data have been obtained in the frequency range from 49 to 149 GHz using high precision automated millimeter wave spectrometer of IRA NASU which provides measurement accuracy of about 10 kHz for a single isolated line. For the pyruvic acid molecule the experimental data in the 49 - 149 GHz range were obtained for the first time. For both molecules the analysis using so-called rho axis method has been performed for both obtained in our work and previously published experimental data.
