The cross-tolerance was described to antiseizure effect of topiramate, carbamazepine, sodium valproate in the animals tolerant to antiseizure activity of phenobarbital on chemoconvulsive models on corazole and thiosemicarbazide seizures. On the model of thiosemicarbazide seizures the direct and reverse cross-tolerance between carbamazepine and topiramate was established. On the model of electroinduced seizures in animals, tolerant to phenobarbital's effect, the cross tolerance to antiseizure activity of lamotrigine and carbamazepine was not observed. The study of the mechanisms of tolerance development to antiseizure drugs following their long-term administration showed that in realization of this phenomenon important role is played by neurotransmitterssystems (GABA, glycine and serotoninergic ones).
