Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 Green tea polyphenoles are exposed to retard experimental mammary tumor growth. This antitumor effect is exposed to be realizes by the way of inhibition of synthesis and interconversion of polyamines, inhibition of activation and functioning of NF-kB transcription factor and modulation of p53 protein expression. Green tea- and red vine polyphenoles are shown to cause considerably strengthening of the antitumor effect of cisplatine and polyhexamethylenguanidine (the polyamines synthesis inhibitor) and have powerful antioxidant and antitoxic properties. The findings indicate prospective application of green tea polyphenoles themselves and in mixtures with red wine polyphenoles for prophylaxis at patients from the groups of oncologic risk and for treatment of oncologic patients, in particular, in a complex with such drug as cisplatine.
