The purpose of the work is numerical modelling and visualisation of stress-strain state calculations at preparational operation - upsetting and at stamping of forged piece at final die impression for improvement of the stress-strain state theory of forged piece and instrument. The scientific approaches have been developed for estimation of stress-strain state at bulk metal forming on the basis of implementation the mathematical model of elastic-plastic material with thermomechanical hardening function. The technique for solving of nonstationary nonlinear coupled thermoplasticity problem for bulk metal forming by a finite element method based on the minimization of forming and heat transmission functional. It was determined a minimum of geometrical precision function and corresponding combination of forming inclinations and radii of roundings.
