The scanning electron microscopy operated on air has been assembled and regulated as the result of project performance. The software for personal computer for microscope control and formation of an image has been localized and tested. The technology of preparation of W tips by means of electrochemical etching has been mastered. The testing of the STM within the real physical experiment on the formation of island films by means of condensation in vacuum has been performed. The images are compared with ones obtained by transmission electron microscopy of the same nanostructures. The atomic images of highly ordered pyrolytic graphite has been obtained.
