In the work has been investigated the effect of asymmetry induction in dual channel wave-guide structure that occurs in consequence of auxiliary exposure to heat of the structure. The structure is formed in result of biconical taper of the joined together by twisting nominally identical single-mode optical fibers fused with stretching. Experimentally determined that asymmetrical alteration of core cross-section can be observed in biconical structure taper. In this case the GeO2 concentrations in fiber cores are different as are the dimensions of cross-sections. The method of consecutive structure's face plate grinding was applied to investigate the building of dual-channel wave-guide structures lengthwise fused optical fibers taper. The investigation was realized by optical methods and with use of REM-106 electronic microscope. The new method of wavelength-flattened couplers fabrication was developed. The method allows also for production of couplers with split ratio specified individually for each of the two wavelengths (1310 and 1550 nm). Experimental samples of such couplers have been fabricated and investigated. The results of the work can be used in development works in order to create less costly then existing production technology of asymmetrical fused fiber-optic couplers.
