Object of research is electromagnetic fields, wave processes in the near and intermediate observation zones of dipole, slot, waveguide and horn antennas, radiation characteristic of dipole antennas with screens of finite sizes. The purpose of research is to develop new physical and mathematical models of the main types of radiating systems on the basis of rigorous and numerical -analytical methods of solution of radiation problems. The main types of investigated radiating system are wire antennas (including wire antennas with impedance covering), waveguide-slot antennas, open-ended waveguides and horns. The developed models provide high accuracy of calculation of amplitude, phase and polarizing field characteristics in near, intermediate and far zones. Methods of research are theoretical investigation and computer analysis. The physico-mathematical models, algorithms and software for computer calculation of the radiation characteristics of aperture radiators (reflector, horn and waveguide), as well as dipole and slotted-guide radiators and antenna arrays in near, intermediate and far zones of observation are developed. The new criteria of estimation of boundaries and extensions of near-field reactive zones of aperture antennas are suggested. The influence of amplitude and phase distribution of the currents or the fields on the antennas on space distribution of the field near the antenna is investigated. The opportunities of creation of radiators with near to constant field distribution on given plane or given volume are proved. On the basis of Galerkin's method and the method of induced magnetomotive forces with basic functions of asymptotic averaging method, the physico-mathematical models of the wire antenna, in particular, with impedance covering, in free space, near the completely conducting screen and in material medium with the losses, as well as multielement arrays of waveguide-slot radiators are created. The problem of influence of the metal screen on resonant length of the wire antennas was solved by means of method of geometrical theory of diffraction. The problem of radiation of rectangular wire loop antenna on arbitrary distance from it was solved. By quasi-optical approach the problem of determination of electrical and magnetic fields inside dielectric cylinder was solved. The influence of cylinder radius, its permittivity and dissipation factor on field distribution at the focal region was investigated.
