Hydrological, hydrochemical, hydrobiological and microbiological observations have been carried out on 240 sites from the Kuchurgany Liman to the Karolino-Buigaz sand spit. Hydrology and hydrochemistry in the studied water bodies have been assessed, as well as the state of benthos, phytoplankton, aquatic vegetation and microflora. Nutrients' distribution and transformation in the Lower Dnister water bodies has been studied. The most effective indicators of water environment quality have been theoretically grounded. Annual cycles of hydrological, hydrochemical, hydrobiological and microbiological processes have been revealed in the ecosystems of the deltaic part of the Dnister River and the Dnestrovskiy Liman. The main long-term effects of pollution with nutrients on the Lower Dnister water environment quality have been found out. Scientifically grounded recommendations on themonitoring system establishing to study the quality of water environment in the deltaic part of the Dnister River and the Dnestrovsliy Liman have been developed.
