The main difference of the proposed perturbation approach from the traditional perturbation scheme usually used in the liquid state theory concerns the inclusion of the short-range attractive interaction into a reference system. It has been shown that already within the mean field level of description, the proposed approach provides very accurate results that are comparable with those obtained within the second order of the traditional perturbation theory expansions based on a hard sphere reference system.
