New results about the peculiarities of relaxation, transformation and migration of high-energy excitations in pure and activated micro- and nanocrystals of type CsBX3 (B = Pb, Sn; X = Cl, Br), K2LaCl5 and LaCl3 embedded in insulator matrices were obtained using modern luminescent methods, x-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The investigation of intrinsic and impurity core-valence luminescence of AX and ABX3 (A = K, Rb, Cs; B = Ca; X = F, Cl, Br, I) crystals was performed. The calculation of electronic energy structure of CsCl, CsBr, KCaF3, RbCaF3, CsCaF3 and CsCaCl3 crystals using method of mixed basis consisting of Bloch functions of core electrons and plane waves and pseudopotential approach taking into account the gradient corrections for the exchange-correlation energy was performed.
