The correlation between a structure, processes of defects formation in crystals and films with their electrophysical, photo-electric, optical and mechanical properties is determined. By reflection high-energy electron diffraction investigated structural modifications and the processes of defects formation in subsurfaces layers of crystals and films II - VI by laser irradiation. By pulsed laser deposition obtained nanoscalled multilayer compositions CdTe-HgTe and ZnTe-HgTe. The mechanical properties subsurfaces layers of the irradiated bulk crystals - targets were investigated. The processes of origin of quasi-periodic surface structures stipulated by mechanisms of self-organizing of the defects in subsurfaces layers were investigated.
