The object for investigation is direct conversion of thermal energy from gas fuel combustion into electric energy, by means of unit-stage (segmented) thermoelectric generators (TEG). The purpose of the work is creation of scientific and technological background for increasing the efficiency of gas-fueled TEGs for expansion of their practical use and creation of competitive products. Research methods that were used to achieve the purpose set: methods of mathematical physics, thermodynamics of irreversible processes, generators computer design, experimental method for determination of basic TEG parameters. Scientific fundamentals for computer design and optimization of unit-stage TEGs were created. Their efficiency increase by a factor of 1,6-2,6 as compared to thermogenerators based on conventional scheme was established. There were designed and created efficient heat-exchange systems and heat sources for unit TEGs, to achieve heat loss minimization and essential reduction of toxic NOx and CO in fuel combustion products. Normalized series of 12, 24 V segmented generators for heat and electric current supply to household and production premises, power supply to control instruments of heating systems and 0,012 and 0,5 V stage generator for power supply to heaters gas automation systems were elaborated. Segmented thermoelectric generators will find wide practical use for power supply to household appliances, radio equipment, systems of control and long-term heat and electric current supply to different consumers.
