Methods of research: orthopedic examination, questionnaires with definition of a pain syndrome, definition of a level of physical activity (Womac scales, Mc-Gill questionnaire, VAS, Lequence’s index), determination of life quality by EuroQol 5D scale, functional tests (6 minutes, 15 meters and step-test), ultrasound bone densitometry, Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry . Based on the implemented longitudinal researches patients with knee osteoarthritis it was stated that medical gyms are effective method of medical treatment for the elderly patients and at the same time verified decrease the pain syndrome intensive, improve functional capacity, quality of life. There are no age or sexual limits to take medical gymnastics. For patients with little pain syndrome it is effective to take the implemented medical gymnastics and exercises ontred-mile. In case of middle pain syndrome the implemented medical gymnastic complex is effective. With the assistance of ultrasound bone densitometry it was stated the verified worse status of bone tissue with the patients who do not take medical gymnastics in difference with patients who took implemented complex of medical gymnastics.
