Based on the retrospective evaluation of antihypertensive therapy efficacy and pharmaco-economical analysis data, the most rational combinations of antihypertensive drugs have been determined to be recommended for treatment of elderly subjects with arterial hypertension in relation to the disease degree. The given pharmaco-economical investigation has no analogues in Ukraine. A further extension of pharmaco-economical investigations is an important perspective direction in the geriatric cardiology as it will permit to find clinically effective and economically advantageous drug therapy schemes as the basis for developing drug therapy standards and medicament formula for the geriatric clinic.
