Object of the research is process of propagation of transient electromagnetic wave in the inhomogeneous quasi-TEM transmission line and expanding slot antenna. Aim of the work is to develop an electrodynamics model of propagation of an impulse wave signal in a quasi-TEM transmission line and expanding slot antenna. Aim of the study - is investigation of the process of propagation of arbitrary transient sig-nal in the inhomogeneous quasi-TEM transmission line and expanding slot antenna. In the study the generalization of evolutionary equations method for inhomogeneous multi connected waveguides are proposed. It gives possible to analyse quasi-TEM transmission line. The factored inhomogeneity of permittivity and permeability in constructed mode basis method are taking into consideration directly. The factored dependence means such low of dependence from spatial coordinates and temporal variable when dependent value are presented figure of product oftwo functions. The first function depends from transverse spatial coordinates only and the second function depends from longitudinal spatial coordinate and time only. The non factored inhomogeneity and nonlinearity in right side of evolutionary equations system are taking into consideration. The proposed method by example of plane-parallel waveguide with dielectric slab is verified. Such waveguide is sim-plest transverse inhomogeneous TEM line. The dispersion relations which were obtained with help proposed mode basis method completely agree with results witch obtained with help complex ampli-tude method. The fast convergence of mode basis to exact solution (sufficiently take into consideration 3 - 4 modes) by example of propagation impulse wave in such waveguide is showed. The exact solu-tion was obtained with help FDTD method. The advantages of proposed modification of mode basis method to analyse multi connected transverse inhomogeneous structure in time domain relative to FDTD are showed. The improved numerical model of impulse radiation of expanding slot antenna because of taking into consideration of interelement interaction in array is constructed. The ex-perimental investigations of characteristics of impulses radiation single antenna and antenna ar-ray executed.
