At the first stage of the research it was made the analysis of the mixture with heavy metals in the bottom deposits of the rivers in Kharkiv. At the second stage it was worked out the classification of the bottom deposits and the migration conditions in the system " water - bottom deposits". At the first stage the recommendations were prepared about the environmental con-trol in the systen "surface water - bottom deposits - underground water". The actuality and the practical value of this research work are in the employment of the prepared rec-ommendations and the methods in the different regions.
