Experts conducted comparative analysis of international experience and the Ukrainian practice and elaborated policy recommendations on improvement of system of regional indicators used in Ukraine. The issue is important for Ukraine due to high inequality of regional economic development in the country. Therefore, the effective regional policy is essential. The conducted study proved that policy makers should approximate Ukrainian legislation on regional policy to the European norms and standards. Besides, law enforcement of already effective legislation should be strengthened. This primarily concerns the implementation of the complex estimate of social and economic development of Ukrainian regions.
