Methods of research: a method for determining the stability of arcing, where a criterion for the stability of the combustion use breaking arc length, the standard for investigation of the structure, mechanical properties of deposited metal and chemical composition of weld metal. Theoretical and practical results: Investigation of non-traditional forms of communication, the use of additives ferrochromium slag in welding-technological properties of the electrodes. Novelty: It was found that the introduction of slag ferrochromium production can substantially improve the quality of the electrode surface. A composition of the electrode coating containing 1% ferrochromium slag, which reduces the duration of the technological process of production of electrodes and to improve its performance. Effectiveness: hydrophobic coating electrodes for manual arc welding reduce the costs of preparing the electrodes for welding.
