Subject of the research: iodine negative metastases and relapses of differentiated thyroid carcinoma with low capture of radioactive iodine by means of purposeful influence on the pathogenetic links of radioiodine resistance. Methods of research: radionuclide (body scan with 99mTc-pertechnetate, 99mTc-MIBI, 99mTc-(V)DMSA), ultrasound; cytology, histology. Results and their novelty: for the first time pathogenetic causes of thyroid radioiodine resistance in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma were determined. Target methods were suggested to overcome it with administration of medication increasing the degree of the tumor tissue readiness to absorb radioactive iodine via stimulation of the blood circulation, redifferentiation of the tumor metastatic tissue and increase of endogenic TTH. For the first time, classification of iodine negative metastases and/or relapses of thyroid cancer was suggested. The term “iodinenegative thyroid tumor” was defined.
