Purpose of the research: to improve the quality of radiation therapy by means of developing modern radiology and dosimetry protocols and modernization of methods of irradiation planning. Methods of research: analysis and systematization of clinical world and Ukrainian experience. Results and their novelty: Based on the world experience and recent recommendations of the WHO, IAEA, ESTRO, ASTRO, new information about uniform approaches to planning and administration of radiation therapy was obtained. Modern protocols of radiation therapy for malignant tumor of the head and neck, breast and thoracic cavity, abdominal cavity and small pelvis, non-tumor diseases were created for hospitals of Ukraine. The use of uniform protocols of radiation therapy will promote improvement of radiotherapy efficacy and quality of life of cancer patients due to improved local control and reduction of the number ofradiation complications.
