Matrix effects influence on the results of atomic absorption analysis more than spectral interferences. It has been discovered that zirconium compounds formed under interaction with graphite furnace surface act as permanent modificators. Atmospheric pressure inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry is subject to influence of spectral and matrix interferences too.
