Pregerminating harrowing at the first stage of sweet corn growth and development ( mass sprouts, appearance of the first 1 – 3 blades) diminished weediness relative to the control, but subsequently together with the hilling-up of plants there was needed hand hoeing. Total application of stomp 3 l/ha before sowing (standard) and frontier 1.4 l/ha exterminated weeds considerably in comparison with the control and pregerminating harrowing. Local application of these herbicides gave positive results as well. Two fold application of herbicides: before sprouting and in the phase of 3 – 5 blades of sweet corn, diminished the weeds quantity significantly on 1 m2 relative to the control and standard.
