The goal is to obtain new experimental data on the heat transfer processes in solid simple alcohols in the interval 2-170 K and to develop on their basis a theory of collective excitations in metastable molecular solids. The method employed consists in measuring the thermal conductivity coefficient at low temperatures using the stationary flat-flow method. A series of experimental investigations of the thermal conductivity of monoatomic alcohols, isomers of propyl and butyl alcohols in different polymorphous solid states were carried out, including the investigation of the solid phase transformation in these alcohols. Comparative experimental investigations of the heat transfer processes in long-living equilibrium and metastable states of molecular solids at low temperatures have been performed for the first time. New effects - deuteration, isomeric and mass effect - have been detected in heat transfer in both the disordered and ordered states. It is shown that the rotation degrees of freedom of molecules is the dominant factor affecting the thermal conductivity of the metastable state with both orientational and translational disorder. The universal behavior of the thermal conductivity in the molecular glass state in reduced coordinates has been found, which agrees with the soft-potential model.
