Studies were conducted on Westar white rats. The animals were divided into two groups. In the first group investigated the effect of melanin on the basal gastric secretion in conditions of prolonged hyperhastrinemy, induced by 28-day administration of omeprazole. In the second group was examined the influence of melanin on the morphological state of gastric mucosa after prolonged hyperhastrinemy. As a result, studies found that melanin are effectively protects the gastric mucosa transformations, evoked by long-term administration of proton pump inhibitors.
