The potential spread of producer gas production in Ukraine was estimated. The methodical basis for energy analysis of thermal gasification technologies for energy-net method, and using variant analysis is developed. There are obtained and systematized data on the energy intensity of fuel cycle operations - collection, storage, preliminary processing and transportation of plant material, main and subsidiary operations of gasification, operations of subsequent use and processing of producer gas, in particular into methanol. Examples of energy analysis are given. The conclusions about the usefulness of thermal processing of biomass into producer gas and subsequent energy products are drawn.
