The purpose: taking into account internal exposure dosimetry results covering the period since ChNPP accident to substantiate the follow-up long-term monitoring system of internal exposure doses for population in contaminated regions and for LAC. Procedures: dosimetric (instrumental and numerical evaluation methods), radiochemical, statistical. Results: There has been analyzed the evolution of all the sorts of monitoring systems of internal exposure doses for population in contaminated regions in Ukraine and for the LAC since ChNPP accident up to nowadays. Direct instrumental methods (WBC), indirect evaluation and radiochemical methods to assess real dose contributed by cesium, strontium isotopes and transuranium elements (TUE) trough inhalation and ingestion have been admitted as feasible and adequate. There have been offered series of improvements concerning presently working hardware. Using the possibilities of unique expert WBC there have been designed the new procedures for performing measurements and results interpretation, procedures for individual inhalation intake assessment (including personal air samplers application). In addition to that, the existing procedures have been improved. The framework of the monitoring procedure is the combining of direct instrumental methods for internal exposure dose assessment (WBC), indirect evaluation methods and radiochemical methods to estimate radionuclide content in bioassays. The optimized proportion of these procedures provides reliable doses control and their prognosis according to approved criteria. There has been offered the implementation of multi-level internal exposure monitoring system for population in Ukraine, based on 3 WBC-types: Reference, Operational, and Indicator. They implement direct measurements methods and allow performing routine and expert (reference) measurements. The integrated monitoring system of internal exposure doses of the RCRM and WBC network over Ukraine has to be the basis for that multi-level monitoring system. All the procedures, methodology, recommendation, software and hardware concerning internal exposure monitoring described in the approved guidance.
