Theoretical and practical results are: the role and place of capital investments in providing the competitive economic growth is researched; the factors of capital investments by all financial sources are revealed; the approaches to capital investment's forecasting according to international and Ukrainian practice are analyzed; the preconditions of investment process' development according to inertial and active scenarios of Ukrainian economy's development are formed and proved; the methodical recommendations concerning capital investment's forecasting by all financial sources and the model for investment forecasting in the long-run term are developed; the capital investment's forecast for 2010-2020 years, based on the original model using the scenario approach, is represented as well. The practical significance lies in a possibility of using presented methodical recommendations concerning capital investment's forecasting in the practice of public management of the national economy by state run public authorities.
