The technology under review would enable to obtain wood boards of satisfactory qualities by adding 25 per cent of straw particles to woody ones, which would allow to decrease the product cost and, accordingly, save valuable wood raw material. Within the framework of this paper the following was implemented: considered are criteria of quality assessment of wood-straw particleboards, also the schedule of experiments has been planned; experimental research on manufacturing and testing wood-straw particleboards are conducted; determined are the size and fractional composition of the ground straw particles as wellas an impact of the crushing equipment on the straw particles and wood-straw particleboard properties was revealed; obtained are the data of regression dependence of physical and mechanical properties of wood-straw particleboards on the following factors: the content of straw particles in different chip mixtures, the types of glue and the amount of the glue applied, pressing conditions parameters; developed and scientifically substantiated are the mix-formulation and operating schedule of manufacturing of wood-straw particleboards on the basis of the equipment currently used in the production of particleboards; proposed are methods of manufacturing wood particleboards with the use of straw component, which makes it possible to expand the raw material base for their production.
