Purpose of the research – to determine main problems of radiation protection at medical application of IRS and to develop of the respective proposals. Methods of research – questionnaires, investigation мedical establishments, dosimetry, mathematical statistics. Theoretical and practicalresults – radiation output of x-ray units and entrance surface doses of the patients at x-ray investigations were measured; the problems of radiation protection improvement at medical exposure were outlined. Novelty – for the first time in Ukraine, international and Ukrainian normative legislative base on radiation safety was analyzed and systematized; questioning and investigation of radiology hospitals of Ukraine were performed; the state of radiation protection at medical exposure was assessed. Efficeincy of introduction: the findings of the work can be used by the bodies of Derzhatomreguluvannia and Ministry of Health of Ukraine in development of target programs for improvement of the state of radiological service in Ukraine and quality of radiological aid to the population, improvement of radiation protection of the population and radiation protection at radiation therapy and diagnosis.
