The new type of nano-device ("lasing spaser") was proposed. The possibility of its practical realization was shown theoretically. The polarization characteristics of electromagnetic waves scattered by structure with chiral elements in optical range were analyzed. The frequency characteristics of electromagnetic waves transmission in thin metal layer with the periodically located holes which size is less than half-wavelength were investigated. The diffraction characteristics of double-layer structures with resonance elements were researched. The possibility of creation of a new class of polarization converters and polarization-selective filters working in regime of nonspecular reflection of electromagnetic waves with the controlled characteristics was shown. The local sources field interaction with double periodic planar structures in frequencies close to “trapped mode” resonance was investigated. The possibility of electromagnetic field focusing by using of a two-dimensional photonic crystal was demonstrated.
