Work's purpose - development of scientific techniques and advices for ship diesel power plants with such alterative fuel use as liquefied natural gas and biodiesel fuels. Research methods. Theoretical basis of scientific research was made by fundamental and applied works of domestic and foreign specialists in area of hydromechanics, heat-mass exchange, techniques of low temperatures, rheology. For determination of the fuel systems parameters the method of mathematical design and method of development of calculation methods was utillized. For development of complex criterion of efficiency the methods of analysis of the systems and methods of comparison of the difficult technical systems were used. During the carrying out of experimental researches for determination of basic parameters of working process of ship engine during work on diesel and biodiesel fuels the method of stand tests was applied. Theoretical and practical results. The mathematical model of the fuel system for the liquefied natural gas, which includes equalizations which determine the parameters of processes and description of such equipment, as cryogenic cisterns, pipelines, pumps and vaporizers-heaters, and also takes into account evaporated of liquid phase, is developed. On the basis of mathematical model a method and recommendations to planning of the fuel systems of the liquefied natural gas are developed. For determination of basic parameters of the liquefied natural gas fuel systems the program on Visual Basic .NET is developed, in which arrays are stopped up information of basic entry parameters, that enables to get their rational values. The mathematical model of the biodiesel fuel system, which includes equalizations for determination the parameters of processes and description of cisterns, pipelines, pumps, separators and filters, is developed. In the process of research with the use of this model the followings descriptions of equipment of the fuel systems were determined: mass and volume of reserves fuels on a trip, power of gear pumps of fuel repumping, speed of filtration and separation. The results of analysis of the calculations conducted on a mathematical model allowed to define the level of rational parameters of the fuel systems of SPP for biodiesel fuels at planning and selection of equipment. On the basis of mathematical model a method is developed and to recommendation to planning of the fuel systems of biodiesel fuels. The conducted experimental research of diesel engine 6ChN 25/34 work is confirmed possibility of normal work of ship medium-speed engines in transition from a diesel to biodiesel fuel. The got results enabled to develop recommendation in relation to the change of descriptions of engine of 6ChN 25/34 during translating of it from a diesel into a biodiesel fuel. On the basis of analysis of methods of estimation of efficiency of technical decisions the method of determination of efficiency of the use on the vessels of alternative fuels is developed taking into account their features with the use of complex criterion. The model of determination of complex criterion of efficiency of the use of alternative fuels is taken into account by influence of type of fuel on the basic indexes of SPP with their ranging depending on terms and district of exploitation of concrete ship. On the basis of the generalized model of determination of complex criterion of efficiency of the use of alternative fuels in SPP the methods of determination of complex criterion of efficiency are developed for a biodiesel fuel and liquefied natural gas. The analysis of data in relation to exploitation of SPP on alternative fuels enabled to estimate high-quality influence of diesel and biodiesel fuels and their mixtures, and also heavy fuels and natural gas on the indexes of ship power plants. Novelty of the got results. 1. Conformities to the mechanism change of processes parameters and descriptions of the fuel systems of SPP are first certain on the liquefied natural gas for vessels, which utilize it only as a fuel, and range of entrance indexes (pressure of storage - 0,6-0,9 MPa, thickness of isolation of cisterns - 7-11% from the tank's diameter, attitudes of diameter-to-depth cistern - 0,25-0,35) which provide the increase of efficiency of the use of this fuel in SPP. 2. Specified for the small-displacement vessels of conformity to the mechanism and turn-down parameters of processes and descriptions of the fuel systems of SPP at the use of biodiesel fuels: decreased of filtration and separation speed on 60% and 65%, increased: mass of reserves fuels to 16%, volume of fuel cisterns - to 10%, charges of energy on the fuel repumping - to 50% as compared to the use of diesel fuel. 3. The features of application of complex criterion of efficiency of the use of alternative fuels are specified in SPP, which differs ranging of separate indexes depending on the district of exploitation and type of vessels, that allowed grounded to make a decision on a choice alternative fuel for ship power plants. 4. Methodology of creation of the fuel systems of the liquefied natural gas and biodiesel fuels of SPP got subsequent development by application of the complex going near determination of termohydrodynamic parameters (calculation evaporated, speed of filtration and separation, expenses of energy on the fuels repumping) and mass and overall descriptions (mass and volume of supplies of biodiesel fuels, relative mass, specific area and volume of cisterns of storage of the liquefied natural gas), that provides the effective use of alternative fuels on vessels. Introduction. Basic research job performances are inculcated on OAS of "Chernomorsudoproekt", The Designed office of "ProLayn" LTD, OAS the "Ukrainian research institute of technology of ship engineer", where utilized in perspective developments of ship and stationary power plants on the liquefied natural gas and biodiesel fuels.
