Komisarenko Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism оf the Academy of Medical Scienses of Ukraine" popup.description2 Object: an efficiency of the microencapsulated human endocrine tissue cultivation and transplantation. Aim: an experimental assessing the methods of endocrine tissue microencapsulation and the efficiency of their transplantation as a treatment method for the hypofunctional states of the endocrine glands. Methods: microencapsulation, cultivation, transplantation; immunoradiometric, morphologic, fluorometric analyses. Theoretical and practical results: the high viability and the hormonal activity of microencapsulated (the alginate microcapsules) human parathyroid tissue during the prolonged cultivation and at the remote period after xenotransplantation to the rats with experimental hypoparathyroidism was demonstrated; the methods of human thyroid tissue and adrenal cortex microencapsulation were developed, and also their hormonal activity under the organ cultivation and stimulation by appropriate tropic hypophyseal hormones was shown. Novelty: methods of human thyroid tissue and adrenal cortex microencapsulation were developed. Efficiency of introduction: an improvement of the efficiency of the endocrine cell and tissue transplantation to recipients with hormonal insufficiency. Advantage over analouges : the proposed process of parathyroid cell and tissue microencapsulation into alginate microcapsules using an additional mixing of solution containing the parathyroid cells or tissues at the stage of polymerization as mechanical effect with magnetic mixer, under the rate of 60-90 turn/min at 37 C allows to increase the mechanical and osmotic stability of alginate microcapsules that contain the parathyroid cells or tissue, and to reach the maximum effect of the tissue or cell microencapsulation. Field of usage: endocrinology.
