New principles of a design of end wedges of a rotor for work of turbogenerators in asymmetrical modes, effective ways of early diagnostics of units of a rotor, criterion of limiting accumulation of defects are scientifically proved. Physical processes which occur in elements carrying a current at presence in them of cracks which develop before occurrence of an electric arch are investigated.
