Statistical and economic analysis has been applied to open source and companies' data. The applicable outcomes of the study is the evaluation of various taxation systems imposed on fishery sector based on the experience of firms operating in the industry. Comprehensive recommendations on the possible improvement of state support and taxation system have been developed. The proposals on the amendments to the contents of respective legal acts have been submitted. According to estimates obtained, the authors conclude that state support of fishery sector underpinned with taxation policy remains ineffective. Thus, holistic approach to design the appropriate solution is high in the agenda. First of all, in terms of taxation, playing field for different companies should be leveled-off. Other measures include stimulation of the demand for inputs, enabling long-term planning of the activities for businesses, reestablishment of subsidies eligibility requirements, provision of transparency and consistency across respective legal acts.
