The purposes of work: study of the current status of regulatory framework in Ukraine in the field of water quality control; composition of a list of development of standards for the study of water quality parameters to ensure the implementation of Directive 98/93/EC; development of methodology document project on accuracy and quality control measurements. The method of research is analysis of standards. 248 international, European, intergovernmental and national standards on water testing methods (water intended for human consumption) were analysed according to Directiv's parameters and modern metrological requirements for measurement quality. The main international metrological requirements concerning methods for the study parameters of water were determined and recommendations regarding the quality of measurements were developed. On the basis of standards analysis it was found out that the existing legal framework of Ukraine does not provide definitions of all water quality parameters specified by the Directive. A list of standards to be harmonized and to be developed was prepared for the implementation of the Directive 98/83/EC in Ukraine and methodic guidelines concerning the quality of measurement results were developed in accordance with international requirements. Regulatory framework in the sphere of quality control of drinking water in Ukraine will be further developed. The application of SRW will lead to ordering of national regulatory framework in the field of testing of water quality parameters. Results of SRW will be used by Derzhspozhyvstandart of Ukraine, they are recommended to be used for the activity of Technical Committee TC147 "Quality of drinking water", Mynzhylkommunhoz and Ministry of Health of Ukraine, agroindustrial complex, food industry and measuring and testing laboratories.
